Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014: What's in it for Scotland?
The Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014 will bring a range of opportunities to companies around Scotland.
Delivering a major event such as the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014 requires the procurement of goods, works and services from wide range of companies, from industries as varied as construction, tourism, food and drink, manufacturing and many more.
The Sporting Chance Initiative will host an event at Hampden Park, to investigate the economic impact that the games will have on Scotland, what opportunities there are for small and large Scottish companies to get involved and how they can maximise the benefits for their business.
This complimentary event will give guests the opportunity to visit one of Scotland’s greatest stadiums, which is also a venue for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014. Visitors will have the opportunity to hear from a range of speakers about opportunities derived from The Games for businesses, meet innovative Scottish companies who have developed products and services for the Sports market as well as receive information on funding opportunities and hear from companies themselves about successful collaborations with academia, one of whom has recently had investment from the Dragon’s Den.
